About Our Business
The Gift and Gun Shop Business had started out as a hobby for
me. I spent a lot of time building rustic style furniture for my
country home and realized I could make money doing
something that I enjoyed. People were interested in buying
furniture as an individual, one of a kind piece, as well as
matching sets for camps and cottages along the St. Lawrence
River. The business just grew from there.
The Chainsaw carving started out as a friendly challenge and
advice from a great carver named Mike Earle. Mike told me all it
takes is practice----well after about a hundred carvings I was
addicted! It's my stress relief. I am so relaxed and focused in
creating a carving that time just stands still. I can't make them
fast enough for people. I travel to craft shows to carve and sell.
Many people enjoy just watching me carve.
I have been a gun enthusiast since I was a kid. I hunt, and
shoot regularly. I currently teach the NYS Hunter Education
Safety course for firearms. I enjoy that as much as hunting or
shooting.
