Carving Care
Some Carving Crack and Some Don't. Depending on how you take care of it.
Outside carvings:
If your carving is to be placed outside try and place in a shady area rather
than in full sun.
If your carving is for outside display leave it outside. Don’t bring it inside in
the wintertime! Keep in an unheated place if you feel you must move it
because of snow (shed, porch, or garage).
If your carving is unfinished apply “Boiled Linseed Oil” with a brush a few
times a year. (LOWES, HOME DEPOT, WALMART)
If your carving is finished apply “Helmsman Spar Urethane” It comes Clear
Gloss, Semi-Gloss and Satin finish. The more you apply the better you carving
will hold up to the elements outside and inside. (LOWES, HOME DEPOT
WALMART)
Make sure you feel comfortable leaving your carving outside. Place them
where people won’t steal them (backyard, fenced yard, or porch)
Place your carving on a brick or crushed stone in the yard.
Inside Carvings:
If the carving is inside put a small piece of wood underneath so any sap
doesn’t get on your floors or mantle.
Keep you carving away from heaters, wood stoves, fireplaces, and kitchen
appliances.
Thank you for your purchase and hope you enjoy your carving as much as I did making it.
